Antique Holly, with Tigers Eye and Natural Quartz Point
18.5 inches/47cm long.
Vintage Holly wand made from a driving whip known to be made, or possibly repaired, in 1902. I was given this whip and had thought of repairing it. On removing the rotten leather binding for the handle I found it was packed out with newspaper that carried reports from the 2nd Boer War. The handle end retains most of the original shellac textured finish and displays the original aged colour and patina of the wood. The lower end carries an interesting pattern in places where the original shellac lacquer had crazed with time and I have tried to retain this wherever possible.
This wand is finished in a semi matt varnish to protect the delicate original finish.
I like this one so much that I was going to keep it for my own use.

Quite a heavy and masculine piece with the grain of the Oak giving a wonderful finish. The twist is a quadruple helix all completely carved by hand.

Elder with Amethyst Sphere
Elder is well known for its regenerative properties, it can easily regrow damaged branches and roots quickly from any part. It represents the end in the beginning and the beginning in the end. It was considered by some as unlucky as it was the abode of witches, but to others it was the tree of second sight that allowed you to see the faery folk. It was a sacred tree and it was not allowed to be damaged in anyway the druids used it both for spells and curses. It was believed that if you bathed your eyes in the sap of the wood it allowed you to see faeries and witches.
This wand has a double helix on the shaft and a hand carved handle. The Amethyst Sphere combines its properties of intuition with that of the Quartz, for your use.

Hornbeam with Blue Goldstone.
Hornbeam is a white wood with attractive flecks and swirls in its grain. It has a beautiful smooth finish often compared to ivory. Hornbeam was once the main source of very hard wood in Britain, and was available in larger sizes than the equally prized boxwood. Its name originates from its use in oxen yokes (the beam between the horns) which were subjected to considerable wear.
However, your wand will not require such hardwaring properties, but the smooth and ivory like finish will amaze you. A lovely piece to handle.

What can be said about these two beautiful new additions to our wands? they are just nothing short of exceptional. These wands are approximately 9'' long and made from Scots Pine. The plaited braid is made from real Timberwolf fur, which has been hand spun and plaited. The pair have been made from the same piece of Scots Pine, which was cut on the night of November 12th 2004 within sight of a new moon.
The Wolf hair makes them especially suitable for anyone following the Northern Traditions, and of course can be applied to any wand of your choice.
